About us

ISB is accredited by the International Baccalaureate Organization (IB), the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC), and the Serbian Ministry of Education, Science, and Technological Development.

Accreditation serves two key purposes:

  1. Ensures that the school continually strives for excellence by meeting widely accepted external standards of quality.
  2. Provides an instrument for continual school improvement, combining self-reflection with internationally recognized rigorous evaluation.

ISB was the first international school in the world to be accredited by NEASC in 1981 and recently partnered with both NEASC and the IB as a global pilot school for joint accreditation protocols.

Formal accreditation under the joint protocol involves extensive community surveys and other data collection, followed by the creation of a self-study report. Visits by outside evaluators from the IB and NEASC lead to a final report combining internally and externally generated recommendations. The most recent IB/NEASC accreditation process was concluded in 2022.
